Remove ‘Listing’ From the Permalink Structure on MyListing Websites

  • Guides reflect how I’m currently using the solution for myself and my clients.
  • If I don’t cover a specific feature, it implies I’m not using it.
  • If I don’t cover a specific setting, it implies the defaults are acceptable or the options are obvious.

By default, MyListing injects ‘listing’ into the URL structure of your Single Listings, which is not beneficial from an SEO or usability standpoint.

This guide will teach you how to easily remove ‘listing’ from the URLs.

Implementation

  1. Install and activate the Permalink Manager Lite plugin.
  2. WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Permalink Manager > Permastructures
  3. Post Types > Listings > Remove ‘listing/’ so that only %job_listing% remains.
  1. Click the ‘Save Permastructures’ button.
  2. WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Permalink Manager > Tools > Regenerate/Reset
  3. Select Post Types > Select only the box for Listings.
  4. Select Post Statuses > Select all the boxes.
  5. Click the ‘Regenerate’ button.

That’s all there is to it! If you refresh your website, the ‘listing’ portion should now be removed from your Listings.
